The Hong Kong Lutheran Social Service was established in 1977. The move of the head office into the Martha Boss Lutheran Community Centre took place in February 1986 and units began to operate thereafter. Services provided are Children & Youth Centres, Integrated Service Centre, Social Centres for the Elderly, Homes Cum Care & Attention Unit, Day Nurseries, School Social Work Unit, Counseling Centre for Psychotropic Substance Abusers, Day Activity Centre, Hostels for the Mentally Retarded, etc. All the service units are supervised by the Social Service Committee.
