The catastrophic earthquake and tsunami struck South Asia on December 26. Thousands of people were died and millions lost their homes. This is extremely saddening to each and every one of us. As Christ's representatives on earth, we have absolutely no reason to be indifferent! The Synod encourages every one of you, with a love for Jesus and man, to respond to the following actions:

Please pray urgently for the below items. May God grant His comfort, peace, help and healing:

1. for the cooperation and coordination between different international helping bodies;

2. for the people who have not yet been found;

3. for people who lost their loved one;

4. for survivors who are under recovery;

5. and for the rebuilt of the affected nations, as well as the prevention against epidermic outbreak.

To send them financial assistance, cheques made payable to “Lutheran Church Hong Kong Synod Limited” can be mailed to the Business Office, Lutheran Church Hong Kong Synod (68 Begonia Road, Yau Yat Chuen, Kowloon, Hong Kong) during January 3-15. Please mark"Tsunami Relief" on the back of the cheque. Individual making donation of HK$100 or above would receive tax-free receipt. Donations collected will be sent to the International Lutheran Council and one hundred percent of all donations go directly to those in need.
